National Airlines Updates Summer Flight Schedule

ORLANDO, Fla. (April 25, 2016) – Orlando-based National Airlines today announced changes to its planned summer flight schedule, including the postponement of expansion at Long Island MacArthur Airport (ISP) in New York and transitioning to seasonal service at Windsor International Airport (YQG) in Ontario.

National must delay the June 1 launch of service from Long Island to Puerto Rico due to lack of available aircraft for expansion service. The change affects planned flights from Long Island to Rafael Hernández Airport (BQN) in Aguadilla and Luis Munoz International Airport (SJU) in San Juan.

“This was not our choice, but rather due to the protracted negotiations for new aircraft making a June 1 start impossible,” said Edward Davidson, National Airlines president and chief operating officer. “We continue to experience strong demand in our scheduled passenger service markets, but are taking a very measured approach to growing this part of our business. While we evaluate options to expand our aircraft fleet and identify potential markets for future expansion, we remain committed to serving our customers.”

Windsor service will transition to seasonal status beginning May 22, 2016, as the company analyzes market demand and fleet priorities.

Reservations for routes affected by these changes are no longer being accepted, and customers who have already purchased tickets will receive a full refund to their original form of payment from the escrow account. Questions can be addressed by calling (855) 757-6999.

National Airlines’ service will continue, as planned, from Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB) to Luis Munoz International Airport (SJU) in San Juan, Puerto Rico; St. John’s International Airport (YYT) in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. As of June 1, the airline’s Puerto Rico service will also include direct flights from Orlando to Aguadilla (BQN).

Passengers will continue to experience National Airlines’ trademark “Destination Excellence,” with amenities including complimentary checked bag, comfortable contoured seats, free beverages and snacks, in-flight meal and a complimentary reserved seat.
